Fourth International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day Review

The Fourth Annual International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day is now officially in the books. On August 19th, 2019 people from all over the world took part in the most Gunganiest day of the year and spoke like their favorite Gungan!

Lots of people participated in the holiday on social media this year, both old friends and new. Perhaps some frenemies as well. Here are just some of the many International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day related tweets!

We also got this nice Tweet thanking us for creating the holiday, which the individual learned about by receiving an ITLJJBD card that one of our friends created and gave out at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago:

And even popular Star Wars actor Mark Hamill got in on the fun, sort of. Hamill replied to my request that he say “One thing in Gunganese” in honor of the holiday, predictibly by tweeting “One thing in Gunganese”:

On Facebook, lots of people were talking Jar Jar as well, a small sample of which you can see in the comments on our post from yesterday.

Once again our friends at JORCO Media surprised us with a wonderful International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day video! Watch and subscribe to their channel! Song to the tune of the Ewok Celebration song, wesa absolutely love it.

I was curious as to where in the world people were celebrating International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day, so I asked on Twitter and Facebook, and received a variety of responses. Most people were in the United States, but we also heard from people who were in India, Germany, and The United Kingdom (and in particular Scotland) as well. Based on the stats for the International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day website yesterday, we had visitors from a bunch of other countries. These are the countries that visited the site yesterday, with the percentage of visitors from each location: United States (64.86%), Spain (12.84%), Germany (6.08%), United Kingdom (4.73%), Canada (2.03%), Australia (1.35%), Denmark (1.35%), Egypt (1.35%), Argentina (0.68%), Brazil (0.68%), France (0.68%), Croatia (0.68%), Indonesia (0.68%), Japan (0.68%), Serbia (0.68%), and Saudi Arabia (0.68%). Admittedly not all of these people may have been participating in the holiday, and some may have been just trying to hack the website, but it’s still interesting to see where we had visitors from.

In my house we celebrated the day with plenty of Gungan speaking and texts. My daughters surprised me by surrounding both of the Jar Jar in a Cars with their stuffed animals. My wife dyed some milk blue which the kids had at dinner.
