The Great Cousin Jar Jar Art Contest
Shortly after The Phantom Menace came out, a song about Jar Jar Binks was released. In the song, Jar Jar goes into a club and is immediately recognized. Freaking out, he tries to claim that he’s not Jar Jar, but Jar Jar’s cousin. This song is a classic, but not many people know about it. Even more surprising is how talented the team behind Cousin Jar Jar is. The song is by musician Meco (Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk), future double EGOT Bobby Lopez (Frozen, Coco) and his writing partner Jeff Marx (Avenue Q, Book of Mormon) and Gordon Grody (Jem).
So for this year’s Jar Jar related art contest, we’re asking you to draw or paint: the events of the song Cousin Jar Jar. How do you think Jar Jar was dressed? How was he dancing? What did the club look like? It’s all up to you!

Voting will begin on Sunday, August 11th, 2024 on the International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day website, open to all users. Voting will end on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 at 11:59PM, Eastern Time (ET). The winning entries will be posted on the International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks website and the winners will be notified via email on or about Monday, August 19th, 2024 (International Talk Like Jar Jar Binks Day!).
